Women of Letters is an afternoon that celebrates a diverse range of strong female talent whilst simultaneously raising funds for Victorian animal rescue shelter, Edgar’s Mission.
Co-curated by Marieke Hardy and Michaela McGuire, the monthly occasion brings together five of Melbourne’s best and brightest writers, musicians, politicians and comedians in celebration of the beautiful lost art of letter-writing.

Worldwide literary ambassadors and besotted lovers of the written word, rejoice! For Women of Letters are BACK for their second residence in New York City at iconic venue Joe's Pub. On Tuesday 9th December Women of Letters co-curators MICHAELA McGUIRE and MARIEKE HARDY will welcome - along with NYC hostess SOFIJA STEFANOVIC - on stage for the first time ever: Brilliant singer-songwriter and musical legend KRISTIN HERSH Bestselling author MEG WOLITZER Writer, comedian, and radio talk show host SARA BENINCASA Neo-vaudeville goddess performance artist ADRIENNE TRUSCOTT Wondrous comedian APARNA NANCHERLA and sartorial icon and fashion designer RACHEL ANTONOFF These fine ladies will each be reading 'A letter to my broken rule.' 2015! A new year for postcards, love, wine, and your old friends at Women of Letters. There’s a huge journey of roaming ahead of us, but we’re going to kick-start it by meeting you all in the magnificent surrounds of the REGAL BALLROOM, where we will celebrate en masse the world of letters. On Sunday, January 18th, the WoL team will present together for the first time ever on stage: Beloved singer and actress CASEY DONOVAN Leading HIV scientist and Melburnian of the Year PROFESSOR SHARON LEWIN Adored television presenter and comedienne CORINNE GRANT Author and Director of the Melbourne Writers Festival LISA DEMPSTER and Best-selling author, cartoonist and broadcaster KAZ COOKE. These fine females will each be penning ‘A Letter To The Tap On My Shoulder.’ There'll be the usual wine/aerogramme-penning combo we’ve grown to love and a special DJ set by the gorgeous and glorious BEACHES DJs. Join us for a most pleasant afternoon celebrating a diverse range of strong female talent whilst simultaneously raising funds for animal rescue shelter, Edgar's Mission (http://www.edgarsmission.org.au/).
