Women of Letters is an afternoon that celebrates a diverse range of strong female talent whilst simultaneously raising funds for Victorian animal rescue shelter, Edgar’s Mission.
Co-curated by Marieke Hardy and Michaela McGuire, the monthly occasion brings together five of Melbourne’s best and brightest writers, musicians, politicians and comedians in celebration of the beautiful lost art of letter-writing.

It’s June! That cosy, romantic month, beloved of poets and writers for centuries. What a good reason to come and spoon with us under the silvery moon inside the spectacular surrounds of THORNBURY THEATRE, where we will once again celebrate letters in a convivial fashion together. On Sunday 26 June, the WoL team bring together on stage for the first time: New York Times and internationally best-selling author AMIE KAUFMAN Award-winning singer and songwriter SUZANNAH ESPIE Acclaimed playwright and actress DIDEM CAIA Actress, author and mother-of-six-under-eight MADELEINE WEST Theatre-maker, novelist, occasional broadcaster, critic and renowned polymath VAN BADHAM These wondrous women will each be penning ‘A Letter to My Dirty Laundry’. There'll be the usual wine and letter-writing combo we’ve grown to love, and a special DJ set by the exquisitely talented Andrew Young.
