Women of Letters is an afternoon that celebrates a diverse range of strong female talent whilst simultaneously raising funds for Victorian animal rescue shelter, Edgar’s Mission.
Co-curated by Marieke Hardy and Michaela McGuire, the monthly occasion brings together five of Melbourne’s best and brightest writers, musicians, politicians and comedians in celebration of the beautiful lost art of letter-writing.

Outside in the pastures gangly-legged foals are taking their first steps and new buds are blooming up hill and dale, but inside the spectacular surrounds of the REGAL BALLROOM we at Women of Letters shall herald spring in our usual way: by celebrating letters! On Sunday 28 September, co-curators Marieke Hardy and Michaela McGuire will present together for the first time ever on stage: Actress and beloved star of Playschool BENITA COLLINGS Jaw dropping vocalist VIKA BULL Renowned comedian, actor and writer TRACY HARVEY Writer and film critic extraordinaire CERISE HOWARD Writer, editor and selfie princess ELLENA SAVAGE These wondrous women will each be penning ‘A Letter to My Greatest Teacher'. There'll be the usual wine and letter-writing combo we’ve grown to love, and a special DJ set by the exquisitely talented DJ Hannah Fox. After making their Indonesian debut in 2013, WoL co-curators Michaela McGuire and Marieke Hardy are thrilled to be bringing their People of Letters event back to the UWRF in October 2014.
