Women of Letters is an afternoon that celebrates a diverse range of strong female talent whilst simultaneously raising funds for Victorian animal rescue shelter, Edgar’s Mission.
Co-curated by Marieke Hardy and Michaela McGuire, the monthly occasion brings together five of Melbourne’s best and brightest writers, musicians, politicians and comedians in celebration of the beautiful lost art of letter-writing.

Cor blimey, all of a sudden it’s February! And it’s too darn hot. What better way to escape the heat than by taking a refreshing dip in to a cool, invigorating ocean of letters. Join us, won’t you, inside the splendiferous REGAL BALLROOM, where we’ll once again celebrate the lost art of correspondence with our fellow letter-writing enthusiasts, devotees and aficionados. On Sunday, 28th February, the WoL team bring together on stage for the first time: ABC radio broadcaster and writer HILARY HARPER Acclaimed singer-songwriter EMILY ULMAN Award-winning author of ‘Burial Rites’ and publishing director of Kill Your Darlings HANNAH KENT Revered advocacy campaigner at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre PAMELA CURR Acclaimed comedian LAURA DAVIS These wondrous dames will each be penning ‘A Letter to My Elephant in the Room.’ There'll be the usual wine/aerogramme-penning combo we’ve grown to love and a special musical interlude supplied by the very lovely DJ Cat.
